Sara El-Shawa

Sara El-Shawa is currently a Sr. Machine Learning Engineer at Inari, a position held since June 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Software Developer at the University of Toronto from May 2020 to November 2023, as well as various positions at the Vector Institute, where Sara functioned as a Vector Scholar in AI, Applied Machine Learning Intern, and Health AI Intern from September 2020 to May 2023. Additional experience encompasses a Data Scientist at Stanford University, a Scientific Researcher with the Public Health Agency of Canada, and a Robotics Researcher at the International Research Center for Neurointelligence in Tokyo. Sara's early career included data science internships and undergraduate research positions focused on bioinformatics and computational biology. Educationally, Sara holds a Master of Applied Science with a Collaborative Specialization in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Guelph and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Biology from the University of Toronto. Proficiencies include programming in C, Python, R, and Bash.
