Alex Capewell has a diverse work experience that spans across different industries and roles. Alex began their career as an intern at Deloitte in 2006. From 2007 to 2009, they worked as a Strategy Consultant at L.E.K. Consulting, where they focused on strategy and M&A projects in various sectors. Alex then joined Gazprom Marketing & Trading as a Senior Strategy Advisor from 2009 to 2012, where they were responsible for strategic planning, corporate finance, and business transformation.
In 2012, Alex Capewell joined Inchcape plc, where they held various leadership positions. Alex first served as the Head of Strategy & Innovation for the Inchcape Group, leading the company's strategic function for five years. Alex then became the Director of Strategy, Transformation & Analytics for the APAC Region, where they were a member of the Executive Committee and oversaw data science, data strategy, BI, and automation. Currently, they are the Director of Global Data & Analytics, responsible for leading a team of 200+ people in creating transformational analytics, business intelligence, and process automation products for Inchcape's global business.
Alex Capewell attended the University of Cambridge from 2003 to 2007 and received a First Class Honours Degree and MA (Cantab) in Management Studies and Geography. In 2012, Alex completed the Corporate Finance Programme Portfolio at the London Business School, focusing on Accounting, Finance & Valuation. Additionally, Alex obtained certifications in Foundations in Design Thinking, From Ideas to Action, and Insights for Innovation from IDEO U in 2019.
