Clinical Licensing Specialist

Job description

The Licensing team provides support to the Practice Operations and Clinical organizations in order to support critical business objectives around clinician licensing. This includes development and enforcement of policies and procedures; administrative support for obtaining and maintaining state licensure for all clinical staff; collaboration with the Credentialing team to ensure accurate maintenance of clinician information; and partnering with the Clinical Liaison teams to ensure successful licensure necessary to support member volumes.

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing process and documentation maintenance activities to ensure adherence to guidelines and successful credentialing and accreditation;
  • Initiate and facilitate licensing activities for new and existing clinicians of all types, including but not limited to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, psychologists and professional counselors;
  • Perform “white glove” licensing on behalf of clinicians;
  • Ensure successful completion of licensing plans assigned to clinicians and appropriately escalate issues that jeopardize this success;
  • Support accurate maintenance of clinician information necessary to meet regulatory and partner obligations;
  • Support the selection, implementation and maintenance of tools and resources for license management, including CME/CEUs and license renewal;
  • Provide logistical support for clinical team members, partnering closely with clinical care managers;
  • Find innovative ways to solve problems and iterate on existing processes;
  • Communicate risks, obstacles and milestones to leadership;
  • Post-project assessments to continually measure impact of process improvement efforts;
  • Support special projects including clinician workflows, licensing strategy, and other regulatory-related topics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience directly licensing clinicians, preferably both behavioral health and medical license types (eg. LCSW, PsychD, LPC, MD/DO, NP, etc)
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication, and cross-functional collaborationAbility to work with highly confidential information is required
  • Meticulous about details and learns from every mistake so that they don’t happen twice
  • Strong results orientationIndependent problem solving & decision making skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at a timeCandidates must be service oriented, self-confident, and dependable
  • Must work with a high sense of urgency in a fast paced environment
