Jamie Smith

Jamie Smith has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. They started their career as a Software Engineer and gained valuable experience in quality assurance, GUI testing, and automated testing during their work placement at CriticalBlue.

After completing their degree, Jamie joined Edinburgh Napier University as a student.

They then returned to CriticalBlue after graduation and took on the role of Application Engineer, working on various projects until 2016. During this time, they also served as a Cloud Architect and DevOps Technical Lead, making architecture and technology decisions and conducting research on cloud technologies.

In 2016, Jamie transitioned to Cloudreach, an Atos company, where they held several positions including Improvement Engineer within Agile Improvement Services, Senior Software Engineer, Senior Software Cloud Engineer, and most recently, Senior Software Product Architect Lead. They took on various responsibilities such as mentoring and upskilling other engineers, working on product development, collaborating with product teams and technical architecture, and leading an agile team of developers. Their focus also included cloud architecture, cloud optimization, and the adoption of serverless offerings from AWS and GCP.

Throughout their career, Jamie has demonstrated technical expertise, a strong understanding of cloud technologies, and the ability to lead and collaborate with teams.

Jamie Smith attended Edinburgh Napier University from 2006 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors (BEng(Hons)) in Embedded Processor Systems. In addition to their degree, Jamie obtained several certifications in the field of cloud computing and cybersecurity. They obtained the AWS Certified Security - Specialty (SCS) certification from Amazon Web Services in December 2018, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification from Amazon Web Services in September 2018, the Google Cloud Certified - Professional Cloud Architect certification from Google in August 2018, the AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in March 2018, and the Cloud Solution Architect - Associate certification from Amazon Web Services in March 2018.
