Maikel van der Velden is a seasoned clinical research professional with extensive experience in developing and executing global clinical strategies for immunotherapies and targeted cancer therapies. Currently serving as Associate Vice President and Clinical Research Scientist at Incyte since May 2018, Maikel's previous roles include Executive Director and Sr. Director at the same company, as well as a Sr. Clinical Scientist at Debiopharm International SA. Additional experience includes consultancy with the European Association of Urology and various leadership positions at Baxter Bio Science, Centocor, and ICON plc, focusing on clinical development in oncology, vaccines, and hematology. Maikel also holds a Cum Laude Master of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Utrecht University and has conducted significant research during PhD studies at the Netherlands Cancer Institute and University Medical Centre Utrecht.
