Gene Yount

Gene Yount has a diverse work experience in the field of technical support and engineering. Gene started their career at LifeScan as a Network Engineer and then worked as an Instructor at Hello Computers. Later on, they joined EDS, an HP Company, where they served as a Systems Administrator Advanced, taking on the role of Lead Firewall Engineer. During their tenure, they led a team and successfully managed Cisco PIX, ASA, FWSM, and IOS firewall policies. Gene then worked as a Consultant at Network Guys, Inc. and as a Senior Network Engineer at Robert Half Technology.

In 2009, Gene joined Sunstream Networks as a Consultant, where they solved computer networking and security problems for clients. Gene also had expertise in Cisco routers, multi-layer switches, and firewalls, as well as Microsoft, Linux, and Apple Operating Systems. Following this, they worked at RSA as a Technical Support Engineer for four years.

From 2013 to 2015, Gene worked as a Senior Technical Support Engineer at Procera Networks. Gene then joined indeni as a Senior Technical Support Engineer, where they diagnosed and resolved problems for clients using indeni's predictive analysis tool.

Gene's most recent role is at Cisco Meraki, where they have been working as a Network Support Engineer since 2017. In this position, they assist customers and partners in configuring and troubleshooting the entire Cisco Meraki product line, ensuring customers can fully utilize the products.

Throughout their career, Gene has acquired comprehensive skills in network engineering, technical support, and troubleshooting.

Gene Yount holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer/Information Technology Administration and Management from Golden Gate University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis. In terms of additional certifications, they have obtained the Certified Wireless Design Professional (CWDP) certification from CWNP in February 2023. Additionally, they are certified in CCNA and CCNP from Cisco, although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
