Andy Cooke-Welling is an experienced law enforcement professional with extensive expertise in international cooperation and crime investigation. Currently serving as a Board Member for Independent Monitoring Boards since November 2021 and as Deputy Director at the UK Home Office since July 2020, Andy heads the United Kingdom Central Authority responsible for judicial cooperation, mutual legal assistance, and extradition. Previous roles include leadership positions at the National Crime Agency, where Andy led the UK International Crime Bureau and served as the UK head of Interpol and Europol. With a solid foundation in law enforcement from positions within the Serious and Organised Crime Agency, the National Criminal Intelligence Service, and the British Transport Police, Andy possesses a strong academic background, including a Master's degree in International Criminal Justice and a Bachelor's in Law. Education credentials also include a post-graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership from the Australian Institute of Police Management and completion of the FBI's Law Enforcement Executive Development program.
