Michael Badin has a diverse work experience across multiple companies. Michael started their career at Future Shop, where they worked as a Product Expert and Merchandiser, responsible for setting up planograms, organizing products, and providing sales assistance. Michael then joined STAPLES Canada, first as a Resident Computer Technician, diagnosing and repairing computers, and later as a Support Services Analyst and then as a Senior Support Services Analyst, providing technical support to retail stores and home office users.
Currently, Michael works at Index Exchange, where they have held various roles. Michael started as a NOC Engineer, monitoring network and server infrastructure and responding to incidents. Michael then became a NOC Engineer II, responsible for investigating and responding to incidents on a team that managed over 5000 servers. Michael then transitioned to the role of Team Lead, NOC, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the NOC team and conducting technical interviews. Michael later became an Operations Engineer II, working with various DevOps tools to manage the internal cloud infrastructure. Currently, they serve as the Manager of Operations Engineering, overseeing the Network Operations Centre (NOC) team and handling 24x7 monitoring of the global technology footprint.
Michael Badin attended Ryerson University from 2007 to 2015, where they earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Information Technology Management. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the CompTIA A+ Certification in June 2010, followed by the CompTIA IT Operations Specialist – CIOS Stackable Certification and CompTIA Network+ ce Certification in September 2014. Michael also acquired the CompTIA A+ ce Certification in September 2014. More recently, Michael earned three certifications from Kanban University: Kanban System Design in October 2021, and Kanban System Improvement and Kanban Management Professional in April 2022.
