Kanaka K K is a Scientist at the Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology since October 2023 and is concurrently serving as an Agricultural Research Scientist at the ICAR- Indian Council of Agricultural Research since January 2023. Previously, Kanaka held the position of Research Scholar at the ICAR- National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources from August 2021 to November 2023, focusing on population genetics and conservation genetics. Prior research experience includes a role at the ICAR- Directorate of Poultry Research, where Kanaka worked on cloning and gene studies in White Leghorn chicken, as well as a postgraduate study at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, concentrating on the molecular characterization of genes in poultry. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Animal Genetics and Breeding from ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, a PG Diploma in Animal Welfare from Indira Gandhi National Open University, and a BVSc and AH from Karnataka Veterinary Animal and Fisheries Sciences University.
