Dr. Debdipta Basu

Dr. Debdipta Basu is a seasoned professional in materials science and elastomer research, currently serving as Senior Assistant Director at the Indian Rubber Manufacturers Research Association (IRMRA) since April 2018. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Manager - Technical (R&D) at Wacker Chemie and Scientist at Apollo Tyres Ltd, where Dr. Basu focused on advanced research and innovations in smart materials derived from natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, and isobutylene-isoprene rubber, emphasizing the development and application of polymer nanocomposites. Early career experience at ACC Limited included design and monitoring of raw mix compositions and conducting quantitative analyses of cement and concrete products. Dr. Basu holds a PhD in Elastomer from Technische Universität Dresden, a Master of Science in Materials Science from Sardar Patel University, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Calcutta.
