Institutional Advancement Operations Manager at Indianapolis Zoo

Rebecca Hancock has a diverse work experience in the field of fundraising and donor relations. Rebecca began their career as an Administrative Assistant at Indiana University School of Medicine from May 2010 to October 2012. Rebecca then worked as a Community Campaign Coordinator at March of Dimes from October 2012 to February 2014, managing donor databases and assisting with fundraising events. Rebecca also served as Event Staff at Dallara IndyCar Factory from August 2012 to October 2014.

In February 2014, they joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana as a Donor Relations Manager, where they managed the Raiser's Edge database and handled various tasks related to gift acknowledgements, record-keeping, and revenue deposits.

Rebecca's next role was as a Donor Relations Coordinator at the Indianapolis Zoo from April 2016 to October 2017. Rebecca was responsible for managing donor files and processing mail receipts, ensuring timely gift acknowledgements and tax information for donors.

Rebecca then became an Annual Giving Officer at the Indianapolis Zoo in October 2017, where they solicited and renewed individual and corporate gifts through personal visits, direct mail appeals, and phone solicitations. Rebecca also managed a portfolio of donors and coordinated moves management for major gift donors.

Rebecca's most recent position is as an Institutional Advancement Operations Manager at the Indianapolis Zoo, starting in October 2022. In this role, they manage revenue streams generated by annual donations and assists the Director of Institutional Advancement in overseeing department operations. Throughout their career, Rebecca has demonstrated a strong commitment to fundraising and donor relations.

Rebecca Hancock attended Indiana University Bloomington from 2007 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Non-Profit Management. In March 2022, they obtained a Certificate in Fund Raising Management from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
