KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will take the lead in defining the Electronic Architecture for Indra’s family of EV Charging Products. Working closely with a multidisciplined team of Electronic Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Firmware engineers you will be responsible for all electronic and electrical aspects of the New Product Development (NPD) process taking projects through initiation, design and development, and into successful production. You will lead and mentor junior engineers, whilst engaging with outsourced suppliers to increase development capacity. You will support the Head of Charging Products in defining Charger Product Roadmaps to deliver a portfolio of parallel product developments. 

Responsibilities:

·         Technical lead for our Electronic and Electrical Engineering function across the EV charging product portfolio

·         Undertake the development of electronic PCBs and sub-assemblies across the full lifecycle from requirements definition, design, development, prototype, verification and production readiness through to reliability and cost optimization

·         Ensure developed products comply with relevant EV Charging standards, environmental/EMC standards and specific business/customer requirements

·         Manage the delivery of assigned designs to timescale, budget and target BOM cost

·         Continual review and refinement of the electronic design process to ensure best in class delivery

·         Monitor industry best practice and advances in Electronics to ensure Indra take advantage of technical advances

·         Lead and participate in design reviews and ensure that production of clear and accurate documentation is provided

·         Provide technical guidance to ensure a focus on DFx  - Design For Test, Design For Manufacture, Design for Cost etc.

·         Technically assess outsource and partner organizations’ capability and development work and partner with them as appropriate.

·         Provide electrical and electronic hardware technical expertise to both the development and production teams

·         Provide high level technical assistance to analyse and solve issues arising in production or with products deployed in the field

Qualifications

·         Degree in Electronic Engineering, or equivalent

 Essential Criteria

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience in designing Electronic PCB and products for volume manufacture:

·         Full understanding and experience of analogue and digital design practices

·         Experience of using Electronic design tools such as Altium or KiCAD

·         Experience of version control of design files using Github

·         Experience of mentoring and/or leading engineers involved in electronic design

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment

·         Knowledge of electric vehicle charging standards (CHAdeMO, CCS/IEC 68115, J1772, IEC 61851,)

Desirable Skills

·         Chartered Engineer

·         Experience leading technical projects or technical teams

·         Experience of working closely with embedded firmware teams
