Stephen Bates

Stephen Bates is an experienced embedded software engineer currently working at Indra Renewable Technologies since July 2023, previously holding the same title at BP Pulse from December 2018 to July 2023. Prior to this, Stephen worked as an application developer at the University of Sussex from January 2014 to July 2023, focusing on the development of prototype devices utilizing innovative sensor technology. Stephen's earlier career includes roles as a senior scientist at Sphere Medical from April 2005 to August 2013 and as a project manager at Contamac Ltd from August 2000 to July 2004. Academically, Stephen holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Engineering from Brunel University London, obtained in 2000, and a degree in Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, completed in 1993.
