JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled, organized Procurement Manager to join our growing company. Your responsibility will be the development of approved suppliers and managing the procurement of all parts that include, but are not limited to, custom made to order mechanical parts, electrical assemblies, subassemblies, and component parts. This position requires someone who has worked in a manufacturing/production environment. Excellent leadership and organizational skills combined with a proficiency in new technologies are highly valued in this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead the overall procurement activities while managing the most challenging product categories.
Lead and manage a team
Identify and develop a high performing supply base and work with Engineering on new technologies for direct material sub-assemblies and components.
Act as the primary interface to communicate with suppliers the needs and expectations for cost, quality, delivery, technology, and overall company goals.
Interface with Engineering to ensure an accurate and timely implementation of new parts, revisions, or other tasks required to source the item.
Process purchase orders and requests for quotes.
Take a lead role in the ERP identification and selection process. Drive configuration and deployment process.
Develop and streamline the tactical aspects of the procurement process.
Negotiate commercial issues, drive cost reductions, and structure long-term supply agreements with suppliers.
Execute tactical purchases of responsible commodities as the company transitions to blanket purchase orders.
Develop long-term strategies for responsible categories to account for company requirements in the areas of supply base competitiveness, technology, risk, and overall performance.
Select and develop procurement team members.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Persuasive leadership ability and excels in engaging leadership.
Knowledge of all production processes and volume purchases.
Must be proficient at matching a supplier capability to the drawing requirements and part specification.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings of a complex nature.
Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions and solve problems immediately.
Excellent documentation, report writing, analytical, and communication skills.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering field.
5-8 years of procurement experience in a hgj-0
3 years of procurement management experience.
Experience working and guiding cross-functional teams,
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
Strong organizational skills
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
10 – 20% of the time
