Mark Marcin

Head Of Department, Texture, San Francisco at Industrial Light & Magic

Mark Marcin is an experienced professional in the fields of visual effects and digital arts, currently serving as the Head of the Texture Department at Industrial Light & Magic since September 2001. In this role, Mark has also functioned as a Senior VFX Trainer and Lead Texture Artist, delivering training across various global locations in modeling, texturing, look development, and more. Prior to this, Mark held academic positions, including Professor and Chair of the Digital Arts Program at Bowling Green State University, and faculty roles at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Louisiana State University, where instruction focused on animation, modeling, and related disciplines. Mark's educational background includes an MFA in Painting from Indiana University Bloomington and a BFA in Painting from Temple University.
