About the Role

As the Engineering Manager for the Cosmos Hub at Informal Systems, you will oversee and set the direction for our technical initiatives, ensuring our solutions exceed industry benchmarks. In this role you will be shaping the technical culture for the Hub team, driving our engineering efforts, and nurturing a talented team to craft state-of-the-art solutions. You will collaborate closely with our senior leadership, as well as lead, mentor, and grow our engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

What your primary responsibilities will be to:

• Oversee architectural decisions, ensure best practices, and maintain a robust and innovative engineering culture.

• Ensure the quality, security, and scalability of our blockchain solutions.

• Work closely with product, research, and business teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery from engineering, balancing short-term execution with long-term R&D.

• Manage and oversee organizational processes and best practices within the technical teams

• Coach, mentor, nurture, and grow a high-performing team

What we look for in a successful Engineering Manager:

• Proven experience in designing, building, and scaling complex software systems and teams.

• Deep  knowledge and understanding of open-source, and ideally blockchains

• 7+ years of software engineering and/or engineering management experience with a track record in open-source developer tools and/or backend systems (experience working within blockchain/Cosmos projects is preferred)

• 3+ years in a leadership role, managing and scaling engineering teams.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse and distributed team.

• Excellent leadership and management skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.
