Anurag Varma

Anurag Varma is the current Vice President and Head of Global Government and Public Affairs at Infosys. Prior to this, they were a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP from June 2014 to July 2016, where they led the public policy practice with a focus on India-related issues.

Anurag has extensive experience in government affairs and policy, having served as Lead Policy Counsel to the governments of India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, and the national opposition party of Bangladesh. Anurag has also worked on behalf of numerous U.S.-based companies with interests in India, including spearheading a win-win Indian market strategy for a U.S. agricultural company and leading a bilateral advocacy effort that reversed a decision by the Indian government regarding the pricing of an agricultural commodity.

In addition to their work in government affairs, Anurag has also been involved in raising awareness of legal and human rights violations related to domestic war crimes tribunals in Bangladesh. Anurag has also created and directed the implementation of the U.S. Government Affairs program for the Asian-American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA).

Anurag Varma has a degree in Business from the University of Alberta, a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver - Sturm College of Law, and a Masters of Laws in International Law from Georgetown University Law Center.
