Gonçalo Queirós

Gonçalo Queirós has a diverse work experience in various roles and responsibilities. Gonçalo started their career as a Software Engineer at Portugalmail Comunicações S.A, where they worked on developing new features for the webmail platform. After that, they joined Rocket Internet GmbH as a Regular Developer and later became a Senior Developer. In this role, they mentored other developers, reviewed their code, and contributed to site features. Gonçalo also developed a queue system and integrated with PayPal adaptive service.

Later, Gonçalo worked at Porto Tech Center (Rocket Internet) as a Team Leader. Here, they mentored developers, planned features, managed infrastructure, and presented at conferences and universities. Gonçalo also migrated the codebase from SVN to Git and established standards and unit tests infrastructure.

Next, they joined Infraspeak as a Full Stack Developer. Gonçalo introduced tools like Jira, New Relic, and Docker and worked on AWS infrastructure. Gonçalo developed major modules and introduced Vue. Later, they became a Senior Team Lead and then the Head of Engineering. In these roles, they focused on assembling teams, creating efficient processes, managing people, defining KPIs, and promoting internal learning sessions. Gonçalo also gave talks at meetups and made open-source contributions.

Gonçalo Queirós completed a Master's degree in Informatics Engineering from the Universidade do Porto and the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, from 2004 to 2009. In July 2015, they obtained a certification in Formação de Formadores from IEFP.
