Michael Szabo MD, MBA

Michael Szabo MD, MBA has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Michael has held several leadership positions in various healthcare organizations, demonstrating their expertise in medical management and business development.

Starting in 1996, Dr. Szabo worked as an Emergency Medicine Physician in various locations until 2000. In 2000, they joined University Health Network as a Staff Emergency Physician, where they led a front-line medical team and provided high-level emergency care. Michael also supervised and taught medical students and residents at the University of Toronto.

In 2005, Dr. Szabo became the Medical Director at Magna International, where they played a pivotal role in the Magna Medical Arts Building Project, represented Magna in business partnerships, and advised the Total Compensation and Benefits Department on wellness initiatives.

From 2010 to 2013, Dr. Szabo served as an Executive Health Physician at Cleveland Clinic and Senior Medical Consultant at Medcan Clinic. During this time, they provided comprehensive medical care to executives and played a role in sales, marketing, and operations.

In 2011, they became the Associate Medical Director at Tailor Medical Corporation. Michael was part of the leadership team that launched this executive health clinic and led an IT project to create a portable EMR system.

From 2012 to 2013, Dr. Szabo served as the Medical Director at Rosedale Health, where they developed a comprehensive family care model and integrated genomics and functional medicine testing.

Starting in 2015, Dr. Szabo held multiple positions simultaneously. Michael became the Medical Director at MSH Americas - International Health & Travel Insurance, Intrepid 24/7, and Novus Health. Michael'srole involved overseeing medical operations and providing medical guidance.

Dr. Michael Szabo obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences from Queen's University, completing it between 1986 and 1990. Following this, they pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) at McMaster University, which they completed in the period from 1991 to 1994.

Dr. Szabo then undertook a Residency in Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa from 1994 to 1996. During this time, they also obtained their License from The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario in July 1996, as well as their Certification in Family Medicine from The College of Family Physicians of Canada in June 1996.

To further enhance their expertise, Dr. Szabo pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) at Western University from 2006 to 2008.

In addition to their educational accomplishments, Dr. Szabo holds additional certifications. Michael obtained a Special Competence in Emergency Medicine from The College of Family Physicians of Canada in December 2002. Furthermore, they achieved Diplomate status from the American Board of Family Practice in 1998.
