Aaron Weber

Director of Engineering at Inkbit

Aaron Weber has been working in the field of optics and systems engineering since 1997. Aaron began their career at Agfa as an Optical Engineer, followed by a role as an Optical Engineer at Optikos in 1998. In 2001, they moved to MJ Research as an Optical Engineer, where they developed optical hardware for new real-time PCR instruments. Aaron then joined Helicos BioSciences as a Staff Engineer in 2004, where they worked on all phases of the design of the Heliscope Single Molecule DNA Sequencer. In 2010, they joined BD as a Staff Engineer - Optical Engineering and was responsible for generating miniature optical designs in plastic and glass for a new fluorescence-based continuous glucose monitor. In 2012, they moved to Bio-Rad Laboratories as a Principal Optical Systems Engineer, where they led all optics and imaging projects for the development of a microfluidics based DNA sequencer. Finally, in 2018, they joined Inkbit as a Principal Engineer and Team Leader, Optics and Systems, where they created procedures and wrote documentation for the transfer of custom scanning system to manufacturing and developed technology to enable scanning of black materials.

Aaron Weber attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology from 1989 to 1993. Aaron then went on to the University of Rochester, where they earned a BS in Optics from 1993 to 1997. After that, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they obtained an SM in Spatial Imaging from 1999 to 2001.
