Achilleas Lekkas

Achilleas Lekkas has a diverse work experience. Achilleas began their career as a Summer Intern at MarineTraffic in 2018, where they gained exposure to various departments and projects. Achilleas achieved a 5-star customer satisfaction rate while assisting with customer support and played a role in analyzing market trends and conducting sales meetings. Additionally, they developed communication materials and managed social media posts.

Achilleas later worked as a Research Intern at Pelagos Cetacean Research Institute in 2018, followed by a brief role as a Conservation Intern at Archipelagos, Institute of Marine Conservation in 2019.

In 2021, Achilleas joined MarineTraffic again, this time as a part-time Decarbonisation Specialist until January 2023.

Simultaneously, they worked as an Animal Keeper at Attica Zoological Park S.A. for a short period in 2022.

In 2022, Achilleas also joined the Hellenic Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class - Hydrographer, a role they held until June 2023.

Achilleas'smost recent position is as a Customer Success Manager at Innovasea, starting in June 2023.

Achilleas Lekkas obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Environmental Science from Imperial College London in the years 2020-2021. Prior to that, they completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Southampton from 2017 to 2020, majoring in Marine Biology with Oceanography. Before attending university, they completed the International Baccalaureate program at Geitonas School from 2015 to 2017.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Lekkas also holds several certifications. Achilleas obtained a Rescue Diver certification from PADI and a Sailing Yacht License from Piraeus Sailing Club in September 2020. In July 2019, they obtained a Speed Boat Captain License from the Hellenic Coast Guard. Furthermore, Lekkas holds multiple certificates related to personal safety and survival techniques, including a Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, as well as a Certificate of Proficiency in Personal Survival Techniques, both obtained from the University of Southampton in March 2018. Achilleas also possesses an Emergency First Aid At Work certification acquired from Aid Training & Operations Ltd in March 2018. Additionally, Lekkas holds various language certifications, including the ECPE Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English from Michigan State University in May 2016, the DELF A2 Diplome d'Etudes en Langue Francaise from the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP) in February 2015, and the ECCE Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English, also from Michigan State University, in December 2014. Finally, they obtained a European Driving License from the Government of the Hellenic Republic in December 2017.
