Michael McCann has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Michael started in 1992 as an Exhibits Maintenance Technician at the Museum of Science, where they were responsible for the operation and maintenance of exhibits. In 1997, they became an Electrical Engineer in the Research and Development group at Holmes Products, where they designed and constructed prototypes for marketing evaluation.
In 1999, McCann worked at United Electric Controls as an Electrical Engineer, verifying new designs of industrial pressure and temperature controllers and designing new product variations and accessories. Later that year, they joined Advanced Electronics Design as an Electrical Engineer and PCB Designer, where they led PCB design for proprietary Vacuum Pump systems and developed test fixtures.
In 2000, McCann joined iRobot as a Senior Robotics Engineer, Electrical, and later became the Principle Robotics Engineer. Michael led a multi-discipline team in developing a hybrid Unmanned Surface Vehicle and Remotely Operated Vehicle for port and harbor security.
In 2008, McCann worked as an Electrical Engineer Consultant at Candle Dragon Inc, and in 2015, they joined Charles River Analytics as an Electrical Engineer. In 2016, they joined RSE: Robots in Service of the Environment as the Lead Electrical Engineer, leading the team in developing Lionfish capture systems and conducting underwater field activities.
Currently, McCann is working at Innovasea as an Electrical Engineer.
Michael McCann earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Hardware Engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Michael attended the institute from 1992 to 1996.
