Patrick Nealson has a wealth of experience in hydroacoustic evaluations and fish population studies. Patrick started their career in 1982 at BioSonics, Inc, where they worked as a Fisheries Biologist. During this time, they were responsible for collecting and analyzing hydroacoustic fisheries data in various environments such as dams, lakes, and rivers.
In 1992, Nealson joined HTI Hydroacoustic Technology, Inc as a Senior Fisheries Biologist. Patrick worked in this role for 14 years until 2006. At HTI, Nealson continued their work in hydroacoustic studies of fish populations, contributing to the design, management, and execution of these projects.
In 2006, Nealson moved to Innovasea as the VP-Consulting Division Director. In this role, they served as a Program Manager directing acoustic tag and hydroacoustic evaluations of fish entrainment, distribution, and behavior. Patrick led over 50 major studies at hydropower dams, including long-term studies related to FERC relicensing. Nealson also conducted hydroacoustic evaluations of migratory fish in various regions including North America, South America, and Europe.

Patrick Nealson began their education at the University of Washington in 1975 and graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Fisheries Biology. Patrick then returned to the University of Washington in 2002 and completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences in 2007.
