Jim Wrubel

Jim Wrubel is the Portfolio Executive at Innovation Works. Jim has over fifteen years of experience in technology and leadership positions. Jim was the SVP and Chief Technology Officer at Think Through Learning Inc from April 2011 to February 2017 where they were a key contributor to the executive team that grew annual revenue by 600%. Jim rebuilt the company's entire product platform to support 3.3 million students annually doing over a billion math problems per year. Jim was also the line manager for a 100+ member cross-functional product team including Product Management, UX, Software Engineering, Machine Learning/Data Science, Quality Assurance, DevOps, IT, Marketing, and Customer Success. Jim has also partnered with the CFO and CEO to raise three funding rounds to support the company's expansion and growth. In their previous positions, Jim was the Product Manager for the Immersive Learning software at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University and the Senior Project Manager at Arnold Worldwide. Jim is a champion for the organization's Open Source, DEI, and student data privacy & security efforts.

Jim Wrubel has a MS in IT Management from Carnegie Mellon University, a BA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Michigan, and certification from Techstars in Venture Deals and Stanford University in Machine Learning. Jim is currently enrolled in Udacity's Deep Learning Foundations Nanodegree program.

Jim Wrubel reports to Kelli McMurray, Controller. They are on a team with Candice Lutz - Accountant, Jeffrey McDaniel - Portfolio Executive, and Peggy McAdams - Accounting Manager.
