Laura Matthews

Laura Matthews is the current Vice President and Administrator of the Inova Schar Cancer Institute at Inova. Laura has extensive experience in cancer research and administration, having served as the Senior Planning Consultant at Inova Health System from November 2014 to December 2017, and as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Nemours Health and Prevention Services from November 2012 to September 2014.

Before their career in cancer research, Laura worked as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton from May 2011 to August 2012, and as a Senior Consultant at ECG Management Consultants from January 2008 to December 2011. Laura began their professional career as an Intern in the Business Advisory Group at Humana, Inc. from May 2007 to August 2007.

Laura has also worked in policy analysis, having served as a Health Policy Analyst at the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices from January 2004 to December 2006, and as a DC Scheduler and Special Assistant in the Office of US Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) from January 2003 to December 2004.

Laura Matthews has a MBA from Vanderbilt University - Owen Graduate School of Management, an MPH from The George Washington University- Milken Institute School of Public Health, and a BA from Georgetown University.
