Sergiu Carpov

Senior Cryptographer at Inpher

Sergiu Carpov is a senior cryptographer at Inpher. Sergiu has also worked as a research engineer at CEA from March 2008 to December 2019, where they participated in the design of an industry-grade data-flow compiler for a 256-cores MPPA architecture. Additionally, they worked on data-flow program rewriting techniques (parallelism adaptation to hardware target) and data-flow graph mapping to parallel architectures. Starting from the late 2012, they participated in the design of a privacy-preserving compilation chain which uses homomorphic encryption as back-end. Sergiu was involved in the research and development for all the layers of the compiler, starting from C++ code transformation to boolean/arithmetic circuits, optimization of such circuits for homomorphic execution and ending with homomorphic runtime environments (partitioning/scheduling problems). In parallel, they used the compilation chain for developing several demo applications (mainly data classification algorithms) in fields such as health-care, smart-manufacturing, authentication, etc. Prior to working at CEA, Sergiu was a software engineer at Endava from September 2006 to August 2007.

Sergiu Carpov received their PhD in Informatics from Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTC). Sergiu also holds a Master 2 Recherche in Technologies de l’Information et des Systèmes from the same school. Sergiu Carpov is an Engineer in Informational Technologies from Universitatea Tehnică a Moldovei and has a Baccalaureate in Physics-Mathematics from LRUR. Sergiu has also received a certification from Coursera in Probabilistic Graphical Models.

Sergiu Carpov reports to Jordan Brandt, CEO & Co-Founder. Sergiu Carpov works with Kevin McCarthy - VP, Business Development, Merrill Csuri - Chief of Staff & People Operations Director, and Alexander Petric - VP, Solutions.
