Pierre Del Moral is a distinguished researcher with extensive experience in applied mathematics and signal processing. Currently serving as Directeur de Recherches (DRCE) at INRIA since September 2007, Pierre specializes in the design and analysis of particle stochastic algorithms, dynamic population models, and rare event simulation, among other areas. Previous academic roles include Professor at the University of New South Wales and CMAP Ecole Polytechnique, as well as a professorship at Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis. Pierre's early career includes a research position at CNRS and various invited professor roles at renowned institutions such as Princeton University and Purdue University. Pierre holds an Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) in Mathematics from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III and a Research Doctorate in Signal Processing from LAAS-CNRS.
