As a leader or advisor for several social enterprises, Troy designed or built scalable workflows impacting millions of people. Previously, he was the Principal at a venture capital fund focused on B2B SaaS companies.

While he was a Director at OffGridBox, the company secured an oversubscribed round of $2m led by Techstars, a global accelerator. Through strategic partnerships with the United Nations, USAID, and international foundations, OffGridBox served clean water and electricity for the first time in thousands of rural homes. Initially, he launched his career by bootstrapping his own software outsourcing company from $0 to $1m by building software for founders in the US and Europe.

His career involved successful fundraising from angels, foundations, and venture capitalists. He was a Superconnector for Harvard University, and a Mentor for MIT (EnergyHack), Climate Solutions Living Lab, and The Canadian Entrepreneurs in New England (CENE). He is a voice for social entrepreneurship as a public speaker at events hosted by MassChallenge, MIT Sloan School of Management, Shell TechWorks, Hult International Business School, Clean Energy Venture Group, MassCEC, World Climate, NCEC, Horizon18, Franklin University Switzerland, Northeastern University, and Harvard College.
