Julie Chaves

Julie Chaves has a diverse work experience in scientific research and academia. Julie is currently working as a Scientist at Inscripta, Inc. since February 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratory from March 2018 to January 2021. Julie also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Berkeley from August 2012 to August 2017, where they also held the role of Graduate Student Instructor for specific biology lab courses. Additionally, they were an NSF SAGE IGERT Fellow at the National Science Foundation from June 2013 to May 2015, where they engaged in interdisciplinary projects and research on green chemistry and sustainable solutions.

Julie Chaves completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2010 to 2012. Julie then pursued further education and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the same university, from 2012 to 2017.
