Catherine Benvie

Senior Technical Assistance Lead at Insight Policy Research

Catherine Benvie brings more than a decade of experience in policy development for nutrition assistance, poverty reduction, and public health programs. At Westat Insight, Catherine supports policy and technical assistance projects with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (FNS).

Prior to joining Westat Insight, Catherine served as a supervisor at the U.S. Consulate in Johannesburg, South Africa, and spent 5 years at FNS working on SNAP and child nutrition program policy. She has additional experience working for the District of Columbia government in child welfare and for several NGOs.

Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in social work from the Catholic University of America. She is pursuing a master’s degree in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
