Jackson Hu

Jackson Hu is an experienced executive and entrepreneur in the semiconductor industry. Jackson has served as chairman and CEO of several companies, including UMC, SiRF Technology, and Neo Energy Microelectronics. Jackson is currently a venture partner at WI Harper Group and an independent director and advisor at InSilixa.

Hu began their career in 1990 as Sr. VP of Engineering and Operations at S3 Graphics. Jackson co-founded IC Ensemble in 1997 and served as chairman and CEO until it was acquired by UMC in 2000. Jackson then served as chairman and CEO of UMC from 2003 to 2008.

In 2009, Hu founded Rain Neuromorphics, a semiconductor company specializing in neural network processors. Jackson served as CEO until 2010, when they joined the board of Atoptech. Jackson served on the board of Atoptech until 2017.

From 2009 to 2015, Hu was chairman and CEO of Neo Energy Microelectronics, a semiconductor company specializing in power management ICs. Jackson stepped down as CEO in 2015 but remained chairman of the board until 2017.

Hu has been a venture partner at WI Harper Group since January 2009. Jackson is also an independent director and advisor at InSilixa, a semiconductor company specializing in DNA sequencing.

Jackson Hu has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, an MBA in Business Administration and Management, General from Santa Clara University, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University. Jackson also has four certificates from MIT xPRO.
