Semar Petrus

Bioinformatics Scientist at InSilixa

Semar Petrus has a diverse background in bioinformatics and research. They began their career as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Scripps Institution of Oceanography in 2017, where they were involved in various projects such as reformatting VCF files for Alzheimer research and running RNA-Seq pipeline and analysis for stem cell trials.

In 2017, Semar also volunteered at Knight Lab, where they programmed a shotgun sequencing pipeline plugin for Qiita and integrated an existing model into the Qiita environment. They were responsible for setting up unit tests and scripts for Travis.
