Hannes Griffith

Hannes Griffith has a diverse work experience spanning various engineering roles. Hannes is currently working as a Senior Research Engineer at InstaDeep Ltd since April 2023. Prior to this, they were a Research Engineer at the same company from October 2021 to April 2023.

Before joining InstaDeep Ltd, Hannes worked as a Research Engineer at Pupil from October 2018 to September 2021. In this role, they were part of the Computer Vision team, applying state-of-the-art Machine Learning technologies to large-scale point cloud and image data. Hannes led in researching and implementing several production automation systems, contributing to significant speed-ups in delivery.

From October 2014 to September 2017, Hannes worked as a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer at Atkins. Hannes specialized in computational fluid dynamics for applications in the energy sector, involving tasks such as building models, running simulations, and analyzing and reporting on results. Hannes also had the opportunity to manage design delivery on Network Rail's Great Western Electrification Project during a one-year secondment.

Hannes started their career at FLUID GRAVITY ENGINEERING LIMITED in January 2010, where they worked as an Engineer until June 2010. Hannes then joined Vorticity Ltd as an Engineer in July 2012, where they explored the capabilities of software packages for the parachute design of re-entry vehicles and scoped potential European sites for live testing.

In addition to their professional experience, Hannes participated in the Stellar Leadership Development Programme at the British Exploring Society in July 2014.

Hannes Griffith completed their undergraduate education at the University of Cambridge from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following a break, in 2017 and 2018, they pursued further education at Imperial College London, obtaining a Master of Science (MS) degree in Machine learning.
