Yunguan FU

Yunguan FU has a strong research and engineering background with experience in various companies and roles. They started their career as an Operation Research Analyst at SNCF Réseau in 2017, where they developed algorithms to solve optimization problems. Yunguan then joined UCL Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering in 2019, initially as a Master Thesis Project student studying liver segmentation in laparoscopic images. They later became a Honorary Research Assistant, contributing to multiple research projects and developing an open-source deep learning toolkit called DeepReg.

In 2018, Yunguan joined InstaDeep Ltd as a Research Engineer, where they implemented reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms to solve combinatorial optimization problems. They also developed novel RL algorithms and extended the bin packing results to solve the glass cutting optimization problem. Yunguan was later promoted to Senior Research Engineer in 2022, managing the R&D team for the DeepChain™ Early Warning System for the SARS-Cov-2 pandemic and immunogenicity projects across multiple offices.

Yunguan is currently pursuing a PhD in Deep learning (geometric learning, diffusion, etc.) in biomedical data at UCL Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering. Throughout their career, Yunguan has demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing RL algorithms, deep learning, and contributing to research projects in various domains.

Yunguan FU's education history is as follows:

- From 2022 to 2028, Yunguan FU pursued a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Medical Physics at UCL Medical Physics & Biomedical Engineering.

- In 2018, Yunguan FU obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning from UCL.

- From 2015 to 2019, Yunguan FU obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Data Science and High-Performance Computing from École Polytechnique.

- From 2011 to 2015, Yunguan FU completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from Nanjing University.

Yunguan FU also holds additional certifications, including:

- Fundamentals of Immunology: Innate Immunity and B-Cell Function from Rice University (obtained in November 2021).

- Deep Learning Specialization from deeplearning.ai (obtained in April 2018).

- Convex Optimization from Stanford University (obtained in April 2014).

- Learning From Data (introductory Machine Learning course) from edX (obtained in September 2013).
