Cathy Casserly is an accomplished advisor, strategist, and executive leadership coach, currently leading Casserly Consulting and Coaching, LLC since April 2014. With extensive experience in the education, philanthropy, and technology sectors, Cathy develops strategic opportunities and aids organizations and individuals in transition. Cathy has held significant roles including Research Affiliate at the Institute for the Future, Fellow at The Aspen Institute, and Vice President at EdCast Inc., where contributions included the development of a social collaboration learning platform. As President and CEO of Creative Commons, Cathy oversaw the organization during a critical transition, while earlier roles at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation focused on innovation and the launch of the Open Educational Resources field. Cathy holds a Ph.D. in Economics of Education from Stanford University and a B.A. in Mathematics from Boston College, alongside training from the Coaches Training Institute.
