Richard Foster

Richard Foster is the Owner and Managing Member of Richard Foster & Associates, a boutique corporate governance consultancy established in August 2014, providing high-end advisory services domestically and internationally. As a Senior Research Fellow and part-time facilitator at USB Executive Development Ltd, University of Stellenbosch Business School, Richard contributes to the USB African Directors Development Programme. Richard also served as the Immediate Past Non-Executive Chairman of the Institute of Directors Southern Africa from 2011 to 2014 and has been a Council Member since 2004. Additionally, Richard holds a part-time lecturer and facilitator role at the University of Cape Town, focusing on corporate governance. Previously, Richard served as the Group Company Secretary at Old Mutual from 2001 to 2013, overseeing corporate governance compliance and initiatives. Richard holds multiple postgraduate degrees in Corporate Law and Tax Law from the University of the Witwatersrand and Rand Afrikaans University.
