Kate Sopko

Kate Sopko provides communications and administrative support to IEEFA’s teams across the globe as the Senior Program Support Specialist, Communications.

For the past two decades, Kate has worked in communications, development, and project management for non-profit organizations including SPACES and City Repair Cleveland, and Policy Matters Ohio, a research institute focused on just economic policy.

She has worked to build local leadership in climate resilience by organizing bi-annual permaculture design certification courses and facilitating placemaking design processes in Northeast Ohio.

As a public artist, Kate produced a series of largescale participatory artworks in her hometown of Cleveland—most notably The Fixers, a city-wide project that during the 2016 Republican National Convention re-directed media attention toward social and economic priorities narrated by Cleveland residents.
