Bruce Girdwood

Bruce Girdwood is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in data science, geohazard monitoring, and the energy sector. Since August 2017, Bruce has served as the Data Science and Geohazard Monitoring Manager at GNS Science, contributing to regulatory frameworks and efficiency programs in New Zealand's energy sector. Prior roles include Acting Divisional Director of Natural Hazards, Acting General Manager of Stakeholder Relations, and Acting Chief Executive Officer at GNS Science. With nearly 20 years in the energy field, including management roles at Girdwood Consulting Ltd, Vector Ltd, and Transpower New Zealand, Bruce possesses a deep understanding of the regulatory environment driving commercial decisions in the sector. Bruce holds a PhD in Engineering from Swansea University, an MSc from the University of Cape Town, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution.
