Kevin Faure

Petrology & Geochemistry Team Leader & Lead Scientist, Stable Isotopes Lab at GNS Science

He has a wide range of research interests. Primarily, He is interested in the application of stable isotope geochemistry (C, H, O and S) to many natural processes that occur in both terrestrial and extraterrestrial situations. He had published in the fields of crustal and mantle evolution, the formation of a wide variety of hydrothermal mineral deposits, fluid-rock interaction of the crust, gas hydrates and paleoenvironmental reconstruction of sedimentary formations. His current research focus is on New Zealand granites, volcanic rocks in the Taupo Volcanic Zone and Kermadec arc and quartz/calcite vein formation surrounding the Tauhara geothermal system.
