Rogier Westerhoff is a Senior Scientist specializing in Groundwater, Geophysics, and Earth Observation at GNS Science since May 2016, focusing on national-scale projects to enhance land use and water management through innovative satellite-derived methods. Previously, Rogier served as a Senior Advisor Water for the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment from December 2022 to December 2023, addressing freshwater quality and quantity issues in Aotearoa New Zealand. Prior experience includes tenures as a Senior Geophysicist at Deltares, leading large-scale research projects on water scarcity, and roles as a Guest Researcher at CSIRO and University Lecturer at Anton de Kom University Suriname. Rogier obtained a PhD in Physics/Hydrology from The University of Waikato and an MSc in Geophysics from Utrecht University.
