Debabrata Biswas

Debabrata Biswas, Ph.D., is an accomplished scientist currently serving as Scientist C at the Institute of Life Sciences since July 2022, focusing on host-pathogen interaction and skin immunology as an independent researcher and principal investigator. Previous roles include Assistant Project Scientist at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Associate Staff Scientist at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, where research centered on lymphatic system diseases. As a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National University of Singapore, Debabrata led multiple research projects on Group A Streptococcal bacterial host-pathogen interactions, while earlier postdoctoral work at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem involved the biochemistry of bacterial enzymes. Debabrata holds a Ph.D. in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology and advanced degrees in Zoology from the University of Calcutta.
