Sovon Acharya

Sovon Acharya is a knowledgeable researcher with experience spanning various prestigious institutions. Currently a Visiting Research Scholar at the Institute of Life Sciences, Sovon focuses on cloning, expression, and purification of recombinant viral proteins, along with antibody and nanobody engineering. Previously, at the University of Lübeck, Sovon contributed to research on mineralocorticoid receptor antagonism and its impact on COVID-19-related glycocalyx damage. As an Early Stage Researcher at the University of Münster, Sovon worked on developing reliable measurements for cell mechanical properties. Additional roles include a Research Fellow at The Wellcome Trust / DBT India Alliance, investigating tumor-stroma crosstalk in oral cancer, and a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, involving Drosophila biology. Sovon holds an M.Sc in Biotechnology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, a position as a Research Scholar at Yamaguchi University, and is pursuing a PhD in Biotechnology at Amity University.
