Muireann Ranta

Early Childhood Rights PHD Candidate at Institute of Technology, Carlow

Muireann Ranta is an Associate Lecturer and PhD Candidate at SETU Lifelong Learning Carlow since January 2022, and has been engaged as a PhD Candidate and Research Master's student focused on Early Childhood Rights at the Institute of Technology, Carlow since September 2018. Ranta's research involves a child rights-based participatory study exploring young children's perspectives on Nature in relation to educational rights. Prior experience includes serving as Deputy Manager at The Garden - Outdoor Explorers Preschool and as an Early Childhood Educator at Grassroots Preschool Kilkenny and Espoon Englanninkielinen Leikkikoulu. Ranta's educational background includes a Research Master's in Early Childhood Rights from the Institute of Technology, Carlow, a Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Certificate in Early Childhood from The Open University, and a BA Hons in Applied Languages from Ulster University.
