Monica Contreras

Monica Contreras has a diverse work experience, starting in 2016 as a Tutor for America Reads*America Counts. From 2019 to 2020, they worked as Front Desk Staff at YMCA of the USA, where their responsibilities included answering client inquiries and managing mailings. In 2016, they joined Dunkin' Brands as the Head Cake Decorator, a role they held until 2020. Additionally, Monica served as a Research Intern at Humans in Nature from January 2020 to May 2020. Currently, they are employed as a Community Health Worker at Instituto del Progreso Latino, starting in September 2020. In January 2020, Monica also briefly worked as an Extern at Latin School of Chicago.

Monica Contreras began their education at Noble Schools from 2012 to 2016. Monica then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2016 to 2020, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a general focus. Currently, Monica is pursuing a Master of Education degree in Mental Health Counseling/Counselor at DePaul University, expected to be completed by 2024.
