Steve Backhurst has 25 years of experience in the IT, Consumer Products, Retail, Manufacturing, and Distribution industries. In 1994, they began their career at American Greetings as a Corporate Purchasing Agent, where they maintained a vibrant supply chain by cultivating positive working relationships with more than 40 manufacturing facilities, subsidiaries, internal business units and vendors. Steve also negotiated and executed raw material and product contracts and saved the company money by negotiating hot stamp, ink, labels, stickers, calendars, candles and pallets contracts.

In 1997, Steve was promoted to Director of Product Development, where they directed up to six associates across the department with budget responsibilities and managed daily interaction with some of the world’s most well known licensing brands.

In 2003, Steve took on the role of Production Planning, where they led, coached and mentored seven employees in tracking, monitoring and maintaining inventory and ordered production of greeting cards. Steve also trained five manufacturing associates and assisted in determining workflows for seven plants.

In 2008, Steve assumed the role of Customer Service, where they handled collection activities via phone and email to reduce aging receivables and resolve customer issues while adhering to industry best practices.

In 2019, Steve joined the Integrated IT Group as a Procurement Manager.

Steve Backhurst attended The University of Akron and obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration.
