Chris Alliegro

EVP, Invention Science Fund at Intellectual Ventures

Chris Alliegro is executive vice president of Intellectual Ventures’ (IV) Invention Science Fund, overseeing fund strategy and operations. Previously, Chris led and managed IV’s Invention Development Fund and was responsible for licensing and innovation services, restructuring the organization across eight countries, and finally engineering the spinout of the fund into the independent innovation services company Xinova.

An experienced executive, investor, engineer, and scientist, Chris has spent over 25 years in the technology and private investment industries. Prior to joining IV, he was vice president at research and advisory firm Directions on Microsoft, where he covered Microsoft's business applications and platform strategies and advised key clients such as SAP and Salesforce.com. He held several positions at Microsoft, including director of data center operations and engineering, and director of engineering for MSN. Before joining Microsoft, he was a member of technical staff at Bell Laboratories.

Chris holds a Ph.D. in physics from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
