Intern Architect & Building Systems Designer Lead at Intelligent City

Brant York has a diverse work experience spanning several architectural roles. In 2016, they worked as an Architectural Intern at HDR | CEI, where they gained experience in construction documentation and detailing. Brant also participated as a designer in the Winnipeg Warming Huts competition submission. In 2017, Brant worked as a Student Co-op Intern Architect at Modern Office of Design + Architecture [MoDA], focusing on schematic design, design development, and construction documents. Brant was heavily involved in project graphic representation such as rendering, modeling, model making, and diagrams. The following year, they joined Diamond Schmitt Architects as an Architectural Staff member, contributing to a school redevelopment project and working extensively in Revit, 3D modeling, and graphic design. In 2019, Brant founded their own company, 37 Squared Inc., specializing in custom architectural TinyHomes on wheels. As the founder and lead architectural designer, they managed ongoing projects, client relations, and project management. Brant also contributed to manual labor tasks for two small projects. Currently, Brant is employed as an Intern Architect & Building Systems Designer Lead at Intelligent City, where they work on the building science of prefabricated wall and floor products and manages architectural projects, including design development, construction documents, and project management.

Brant York completed their Master of Architecture (MArch) degree in Architecture at The University of British Columbia from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, they obtained their Bachelor of Architectural Science with Distinction COOP Designation in Architecture from Ryerson University, which they accomplished from 2013 to 2018.
