Javier Cuervo is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, currently serving as the Lead Energy Economist at the Inter American Development Bank since April 1999. In this role, Javier focuses on regulation and the development of investment projects aimed at expanding coverage and enhancing generation and transmission systems. Prior to this position, Javier held the role of Director of Environmental Policy at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación for a brief period in early 2001 and served as the Director of the Planning Unit at Empresa de Energía de Bogotá from July 1993 to January 1994.
