Samantha Bowen

Samantha Bowen, PhD, is currently the Director of Portfolio Management for Emerging Infectious Diseases at IAVI, where responsibilities include developing and monitoring portfolio key performance indicators and conducting risk assessments for vaccine development. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of Operations at the Duke Center for Autism & Brain Development, overseeing center-wide operations and improving operational processes. Additional roles include Associate Director of Strategy & Operations at the Duke Institute for Brain Sciences, Project Leader I at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, and Program Manager II at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, where oversight of a $40M+ project portfolio was a key responsibility. Samantha's academic background includes a PhD in Molecular Genetics & Microbiology from Duke University and a BS in Biology from Georgetown University.
