Mandy Dowden

Mandy Dowden is an experienced HR professional with a strong background in people and organizational development. Currently serving as the Head of People at International Alert since April 2022, Mandy oversees employee relations, cultural development, recruitment, and learning and development initiatives. Previously, as a Learning and Development Consultant for Women's Aid Federation for England, Mandy developed a values framework and updated performance review processes. Prior roles include serving as the People & Org Dev Business Partner at Alzheimer Society, where responsibilities included supporting 1300 employees and 6000 volunteers, and as Head of Resourcing & Development and Head of Human Resources at Southern Water, where Mandy led various HR initiatives and managed teams. In addition to these roles, Mandy took a brief career break to travel and volunteer, further enhancing leadership capabilities.
